Cambridge Early Year 3 (5-6 Years)

Communication, Language and Literacy

At Bradford, our CEY3 learners build confidence in expressing thoughts, feelings, and opinions, expanding their vocabulary through stories, poems, and non-fiction that spark curiosity and imagination.

They practice predicting, making connections, and explaining ideas, helping them think deeper about what they read and relate it to their own experiences.

Writing & Language Skills
Learners start forming simple sentences, using capital letters and punctuation correctly. They learn to blend letter sounds into words, picking up tricky combinations like “th,” “sh,” and “ch.”

Handwriting & Fine Motor Skills
With a focus on letter size, spacing, and grip, learners refine their writing while sitting comfortably and positioning their paper correctly.

Maths

The CEY3 Maths Program focuses on essential mathematical concepts, including:

At Bradford, we make maths fun and easy to understand with hands-on activities that help learners build confidence in numbers, shapes, and patterns.

                • Counting & Number Patterns – Our learners practice counting forwards and backwards in 1s, 2s, and 10s, spotting even and odd numbers along the way.
                • Comparing & Ordering Numbers – They work with numbers up to 20, learning to compare, order, and understand that moving objects around doesn’t change the total.
                • Quick Estimations – Learners make smart guesses about objects and groups, figuring out things like whether there are enough apples for everyone.
                • Money Awareness – Through fun activities, they get familiar with local currency, learning how money works in everyday situations.
                • Shapes & Patterns – Learners play with 2D and 3D shapes, exploring how they move, fit together, and appear in everyday life.

Through exploration and creative thinking, Bradford learners build solid maths skills in a way that feels natural and engaging!

Let’s Explore

In CEY3, learners dive into hands-on exploration, gathering and responding to visual information from the world around them. Whether observing nature, exploring man-made structures, or expressing creativity through art and design, they use various materials, tools, and technologies to document their discoveries.

Beyond exploration, learners develop important social and life skills, building trusting relationships with peers and adults while learning to appreciate and respect others. They are encouraged to make responsible choices, adapt their behaviour to different situations, and confidently navigate changes in routine.

At Bradford, learning is all about curiosity, creativity, and growing into independent, thoughtful individuals!
