Cambridge Early Year 2 (4-5 Years)
Communication, Language and Literacy
In CEY2, Bradford learners dive deeper into words, sounds, and meanings, expanding their vocabulary while enjoying stories, poems, and non-fiction tailored to their interests. They actively engage in discussions, making predictions about stories and explaining their thinking, sharpening their comprehension skills.
Building Early Writing Skills
Our learners start writing for real-life purposes—from their full names to simple labels, signs, and captions. They recognize and pronounce common letter sounds (graphemes) and begin blending sounds, mastering tricky consonant digraphs like "th," "sh," "ch," "ng", and blends such as "nd" and "st."
Confidence in Writing Mechanics
We focus on proper pencil grip, posture, and paper positioning to help learners write smoothly from left to right in a straight line. This hands-on approach ensures they develop the comfort and control needed for confident writing.
At Bradford, CEY2 learners don’t just learn language—they experience it, play with it, and make it their own!
Maths
In Early Years 2 Maths, we bring numbers to life with interactive, fun-filled lessons that help learners grasp concepts in a natural way. From counting games to exploring shapes, children build confidence in maths through play, problem-solving, and everyday experiences.
By incorporating movement, songs, and practical activities - like role-playing in a pretend shop or creating patterns with colourful tiles - learners develop key numeracy skills without even realizing they’re learning! It’s all about making maths feel exciting, engaging, and part of their world.

Let’s Explore
At Bradford, our CEY2 learners step into exciting new worlds - whether it's the natural outdoors, man-made spaces, or their own wild imaginations. Through art, design, and play, they bring their experiences to life, experimenting with materials and practicing creative control. After visiting a farm, for example, they might paint or build a miniature farm, turning learning into a hands-on adventure!
Beyond creativity, we nurture social skills, helping learners ask questions, listen, and engage in conversations with confidence. They practice following two-step instructions and adjusting to different social settings, making connections that matter.
